What an amazing World Cup! With Germany taking home their 4th title, this year’s World Cup was filled with amazing finishes, epic storylines, and all the drama that could possibly be packed into three weeks. Captivating the entire world, the tournament broke several social media records, and proliferating a global conversation that flooded newsfeeds and status updates across the globe. We’ve created an infographic capturing the World Cup conversation across Instagram.A couple things we learned:

• Root, root, root for the home team! Both during the group stage and the elimination rounds, Brazil’s gamedays consistently saw the largest conversation reach and number of World Cup related posts.

• People couldn’t wait for the World Cup! Opening day saw the largest Instagram reach and number of World Cup posts over the course of the entire tournament (plus Brazil played… double whammy!).

• Some heavy hitters joined the conversation; posts from the likes of Giselle, Kobe Bryant, Pitbull, and Christiano Ronaldo reached millions of followers.
