A First look at Instagram's new Hyperlapse App

This morning Instagram released their new Hyperlapse app, giving photographers and videographers a powerful new tool to create great mobile videos. The app features “built-in stabilization technology that lets you create moving, handheld time lapses that result in a cinematic look, quality and feel—a feat that has previously only been possible with expensive equipment.

”What does this mean? It means that all of those shaky videos you record at ballgames, concerts, or while out and about can now be turned into high-quality, time-lapse videos.

Blazing the way are several notable early adopters, including Jimmy Fallon, Kevin Jonas, and Burton Snowboards. The results are pretty awesome…In just a few hours after Instagram Hyperlapse app release, users have already taken to creating amazingly compelling videos. Using Pixlee, we’ve taken a look at some of 3,000 videos that have already been publicly posted to Instagram.

The buzz of early adopters trying their hand at creating Hyperlapse videos has spread quickly across North America and Europe.

We will continue to update this post with the hottest new time-lapses coming into Instagram throughout the day.
